Lottabody Blowout Lotion | Review

I am not a heat-free naturalista. I like to change my style up now and again and rock different styles using heat. I love that my hair is magical and versatile so I can do whatever I want to it and it will look fly.

Now, don't get it twisted I don't use heat all the time, that would be stupid and cause major heat damage! Been there done that. Back in the day I would straighten my hair every day for about 10years and it was so lifeless and limp.
It is so important that when you do use heat on your hair, you use heat protectant or a product that provides a barrier between the heat tool and your hair, so it doesn't fry and burn. I have recently been using the new Lottabody Sleek Me, Blowout Lotion.

Enriched with Coconut and Shea Oils, this formula deeply penetrates and hydrates hair, leaving hair soft and nourished with a brilliant shine. This lightweight, non-greasy, temporary straightening lotion allows you to easily change your look from naturally curly to silky-straight. It conditions and protects hair from over-drying and breakage while defying humidity and frizz, leaving hair shiny and smooth.- lottabody.com

Freshly co-washed hair
When I blowout my hair, I never use the hairdryer directly on my hair and blow away, as it requires to much tension and maniplulation which leads to breakage and damage. I either do a rollerset and then blow-dry my hair straight-ish or I stretch my roots and then blow-dry with a round brush. I am still trying to improve my round brush technique, it is so tricky!

The Lottabody Blowout Lotion is great for smoothing the hair and keeping it moisturised. One of the main issues I have had in the past is retaining moisture in my hair when using a blowdryer, as it just dries the hair and leaves it flat. This lotion gives it lustre and shine, the hair is also left soft and lightweight. My hair strands are fine, so using a product that leaves it lightweight is important.

Would I continue to use it? Yes

This lotion hasn't caused any flaking, it has a nice smell and does what it says it does. I look forward to trying it out using a flat iron in the future and seeing how it works.

  1. Greetings!

My hair is similar to yours from the looks of it. I have fine, low porosity 3c hair in the very front and very back of my head and the rest is 4a. I just started using this. It did not work well for a blowout for me using a blow dryer with a comb attachment. I’m 40 and I have found over the years that I have not been able to achieve a blowout that I can wear without tons of flyaways. I have been able to do nice blowouts for my daughter and other people but my hair type does not cooperate with blowouts unless done professionally.

Now, I am using this lotion for a Dominican roller set. I’m sitting under my hot ass hair dryer right now sweating. Then, I am going to wrap it and go to bed. This is all I put in my hair for this style because too many products weigh my hair down. I like body and bounce. What I like about this product is that it is so slippery, smells good, a little goes a long way, moisturizes and it detangles. I don’t recommend this product for a wash n go because of the shrinkage.
