Skincare Routine

This post is WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY overdue!! I have been testing and trying different products over the past 6months and I finally have a skincare routine that works!

Dear 2 year old self

Dear Rachael,

You haven't got a clue what is ahead of you and that is ok. Fear is a beautiful thing, as it allows space for you to develop and grow.

7 top tips for the perfect relaxing bath

Everyone is so busy these days, running around doing more than a million things at one time. I struggle with finding time to relax and unwind. I don't put aside time to just breathe and be. It can have major effect on your energy levels if you don't take time to be with yourself and relax. I love the peaceful-ness I get with baths. They help me to relax and cleanse my skin at the same time!!

These are seven of my top tips to the perfect relaxing bath that will help you soothe your skin and unwind your mind.

I had an oyster and liked it!

I am a lover of food. It brings me so much joy and happiness.

Being a pescartarian I am experimenting more with different recipes and dishes. I am becoming a bit more creative in the kitchen and loving new flavours.

Bloggers Hangout Secret Sleepover

Some of you may know that I am a member of the Bloggers Hangout crew..hehe!! It is an amazing platform that connects brands with bloggers. I have worked with alot of brands, thanks to them!! About a month ago there was an email announcing the opportunity for a handful of bloggers to be selected for a secret sleepover.
I was in two minds about applying as it was my birthday weekend, but my holiday plans fell through, so I applied...and your girl was picked!!

Brunch at Counter

After a fun night at the Blogger's Hangout Secret Sleepover, we were treated to brunch at Counter in South London. Brunch is one of those American things that the UK has adopted that I actually like, because I am a huge foodie!

Mazuri | Product Review

I have been team straight hair don't care for the last couple of weeks. Sometimes you gotta switch it up!! When I do straighten my hair, I don't use a lot of products that will weigh it down, so I still have great movement and volume to my hair.

One of the issues many naturals have when it comes to having straight hair, is fighting humidity, which makes your hair revert back. This can be annoying when you are trying to make the style last a few days longer. It is also harder to add moisture to your hair without using water based products. So, what do you do?

Hairsay Ep.4 | @CurltureUK x @UKafrolista

I was kindly invited as a special guest for an episode of CurltureUK's show Hair Say.

We spoke about SheaMoisture in the UK, What is an Afro, Social media and MORE!!!

Cat Foodie | Online Pet Food

You may or may not know but I am the proud mother of three cats. Yes..I am the cat woman!! hehe!!!

My puddings have now turned into bloggers!! hehe!! I was sent some products from Online Pet Food for them to review.

How to stay MOTIVATED!!

It can be hard to stay motivated and positive allllll the time! Who really has time for that, life happens, right?!
But, if you give up. Who is going to do it for you?

These are some of the tips I live by in order to keep focused and achieve my goals!

Designer Underwear for LESS!

Lingerie has become my latest obsession! There is something very pleasing and satisfying about wearing matching underwear or luxury lingerie. Its give me a boost of self-confidence and a spring in my step for the day.

REVIEW: Dominican Haircare

If you have been in the natural hair world for a long time, you may have heard of or come across Dominican Haircare products. Over the years I have seen reviews about how great their deep conditioners are, and was curious about them, but never ventured out to try!

Then I received a review request from Dominican Haircare and ran at the chance to try them out!

New Obsession // Over The Knee Boots

I don't know how or where this obsession has come from, but I am in love with Over the knee boots. I may be late to the trend, but I don't pay  attention to them. So I didn't know it was a thing for the winter!! Hehe!!

I  have been bookmarking page after page with boots that make me go oooh and aaah.

October Favourites

November is here!! Yay!!

Autumn Prints Lookbook

Autumn is here and Winter is approaching!! I am a lover of prints and vintage clothing, all year round!!
I discovered a new website www.shein.com via a blogger on twitter and found some great pieces at discounted prices.

PALMER'S Coconut Oil Formula

Winter is approaching and this is the season of dry skin and chapped lips!!
The cold air is so draining to our skin, taking away all of the moisture and leaving us looking ashy and pale!!

Sounds terrible right!!

Well, I have been playing around with four products from the Palmer's Coconut Oil Formula range to see if they can keep my skin moistured, hydrated, supple, glowy and ash free!!

Check your breasts!!

This is a bra
And inside this bra are breasts (for all those 😲 people)

When is the last time you checked your breasts for lumps, bumps or anything different that usual?

3months ago? 2years ago? Never?

Last night I was on the Dotun Adebayo show on BBC Radio London.

This is my second time of radio, but my first time in a radio studio.
It is very interesting how everything works. It isn't as simple as sitting in front of a microphone and talking!!

One of those days

As confident as I am with myself, I have my days when I feel ugly. When I feel not good enough.
Yes, I promote body positivity, but its hard to constantly be in that mindset.

Don't touch my hair!!!

If you see a headline on the news that reads
'Black girl in prison for fly-kicking man for touching her hair'

It's me!!

Body acceptance means, as much as possible, approving of and loving your body, despite its “imperfections”, real or perceived. That means accepting that your body is fatter than some others, or thinner than some others, that your eyes are a little crooked, that you have a disability that makes walking difficult, that you have health concerns that you have to deal with — but that all of that doesn’t mean that you need to be ashamed of your body or try to change it. Body acceptance allows for the fact that there is a diversity of bodies in the world, and that there’s no wrong way to have one.

Sometimes you need a reminder that negative comments about your body aren’t even really about your body, they’re about society and our society’s wrongheaded and impossibly narrow definition of a “good” body. Your body didn’t do anything wrong. What’s fucked up about your body is not your body at all, but that your body has to live in a society that thinks it has a right to say fucked up things about your body.

SheaMoisture UK Launch

After years of smuggling in products, visiting target and packing my suitcase to overweight, SheaMoisture is officially in the UK.... I say "officially" because it has been available to purchase at some stores in the UK for the past few years....

Ethnic Haircare in mainstream stores, is it a good thing?

There is an ethnic haircare section in Boots and Superdrug.

Pop bottles..lets dance..celebration

Well...I'm going to be the party pooper!

I'm not excited...

Beauty Blogger Awards

And the winner is.... well it wasn't me because I wasn't nominated for an award ....hehe!!

Straight Hair Don't Care

I recieved a package today from Everything But The Memories. They specialise in custom and personalised gifts for birthdays, weddings, birthdays and any special occassions.

You are the work of art,
your father never painted.
the work of art he left
on the canvas for your mother
to birth.
the work of art
your mother refused to give up.
you are still magic.
you are loved.
you are valuable
even when you feel unworthy.
you are loved.

You can’t eat beauty, it doesn't feed you...beauty was not a thing that I could acquire or consume, it was something that I just had to be. You can’t rely on how you look to sustain you. What actually sustains us, what is fundamentally beautiful, is compassion--for yourself and for those around you. That kind of beauty inflames the heart and enchants the soul.

How to become CONFIDENT

I didn't become confident over night.
It was a process.
It took alot of sad days.
It took alot of tears.
It took alot of people telling me I was ugly, fat, not good enough.
It took alot of work!

Netflix and Chill

Netflix and Chill seems to be the new way of getting a girl to come to your house for extra activities aka sex...and I say girl because a grown woman knows what it really means!!

Now... I am a very old fashioned romatic and love men who think outside the box and use their imagination to make dates special and unique. That is a rare thing these days!!!

Finding the perfect bra with Chantelle Paris

I am a blessed chested woman, and find it very hard to find feminine, beautiful and sexy bras. Whenever I find bras in my size (38F) they are always old looking or boring!! Big breasts need love too!!

Bloggers Fashion Week 2015

September is the January of the fashion world! There are events and fashion shows all month long!

As a fashion graduate and previously being a fashion designer in the industry, September is the month you run around in heels you can't even walk in and carry more things you don't need in your bag! Oh and batteries for the camera, backup battery for the phone..its hectic!

So to kick off my fashion month I attended the Blogger hangout's Bloggers Fashion Week at the OXO Tower on Monday.

Vernez App Launch Event

I was invited last week by the Blogger's Hangout to attend the Vernez App Launch party...now because I had so much going on, I scanned the email, RSVP'd and didn't really know what the app was about, which works in my favour as the event provided me with all the information I needed.

On Monday I am attending Bloggers Fashion Week. It should be interesting, I sadly missed last year's event.

Now...the dress code has me BAFFED!! It is 'black chic'.....erm...I HATE wearing all black.

Pressures to be the perfect woman

I don't think men understand the pressures that women have. Especially in 2015.

We have to be everything and anything for everyone else first before ourselves and that is so dangerous! I am one who can definately understand the burnout women experience trying to go above and beyond. Its draining.

Demure Lashes

Black Girl Beauty Brand Alert!!

I am all for supporting black owned business, especially owned by black women.
Demure Lashes is a new luxury eyelash brand by 21year old, Brunetty Dihoulou. The eyelashes are made from mink and human hair.

New Hair Colour....again!!

Well. As you know social media and hair colour has me feeling some type of way.
I was scrolling through social media and came across some beautiful photos of golden brown curls. I screenshotted them and thought, I'll do it soon.

Then I kept seeing different hair colours, my girl Kala @thekglifestyle posted a video of her hair this morning and I was like...ok I'm going to do this today!!
